ACTION AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL

it is particularly important that the child specific actions proposed must be pursued as part of strengthening broader national development programmes combining revitalised economic growth, poverty reduction, human resource development and environmental protection. Such programmes must also strengthen community organisation, inculcate civic responsibility and be sensitive to the cultural heritage and social values which support progress without alienation of the young generation.
